The SAVE Act is back.

After failing to become law as a standalone bill, President Donald Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, and House Republican leaders are pursuing new ways to move it through Congress, including attaching parts of it to broader spending legislation. This bill will make voter registration more difficult for millions of eligible Americans, including married women whose names have changed, military families, naturalized citizens, students, survivors of domestic violence, and others whose documents may not easily match current records. This debate is about more than one bill. It is about whether we can protect election security and protect every eligible American’s right to vote.
